Fees, compared

What every ticket costs to sell, on our platform and on the ones you’re comparing us with, including where they cost less. Nothing is ever added at checkout: the price you see is the price you pay.

Venue partners

Host one Meek Earth Studio concert. Sell your own tickets with no ticket fee for 12 months.

Give us your venue, free of charge, for one concert day. In return, your own Community Space events carry no ticket fee, your buyers pay exactly your listed price, and the studio pays back every Stripe card fee each month. The 4% artist booking fee is a separate charge and still applies when a partner books an artist. On a $20.00 ticket, you keep $20.00.

The fine print, up front: what you give is the venue for a full concert day. Stripe still takes its fee from each sale, and the studio repays it at the end of the month, up to the value of the venue you provided. Each hosted concert covers 12 months. Fully refunded, disputed and under-review orders aren’t repaid, and neither are Stripe’s dispute fees. Full details

Booking artists

Community Space bookings are charged on the artist’s own Stripe account at the artist’s own rate (floor $200 an hour per musician). The platform’s artist booking fee is added for the buyer and printed on every quote; it never reduces the artist’s number. It is a different fee from the ticket fee above: tickets carry the ticket fee, bookings carry the booking fee, and venue-partner status waives the ticket fee only.

How we compare

Everything taken from one ticket before the organizer is paid, when the organizer absorbs the fees and the buyer uses a US card. Rates are from each platform’s own US pricing page, checked October 24, 2026. Where processing is billed separately, we used Stripe’s standard 2.9% + 30¢. Every platform here also lets you pass fees to buyers instead.

Where others cost less

Our rates are below Eventbrite’s on every ticket here, and below Humanitix’s standard rate. They aren’t the lowest you can find:

  • Humanitix for charitiesIts charity and school rate costs less than our nonprofit rate on tickets of $28.00 and up. Below that, ours costs less.
  • Flat-fee toolsTicket Tailor charges a flat fee per ticket, so it costs less than us on every paid ticket: its charity rate beats our nonprofit rate, and its standard rate beats our for-profit rate.
  • Percentage-only toolsGivebutter with tips off costs less than our nonprofit rate on tickets under $68.00, because of our $0.75 per-ticket fee.
  • Tip-funded toolsZeffy, and Givebutter with tips on, charge nonprofits nothing. They’re paid by asking your buyers for a tip at checkout.

The venue-partner program is our answer: it’s the only $0 option here that doesn’t ask your buyers for a tip. Without it, you’re paying for a platform that lists every event in a public directory, shows the all-in price up front, and never adds anything at checkout.

Studio World

Buyers pay the ticket price. Each ticket is split 20% to each of the two artists and 60% to Meek Earth Studio, and the studio absorbs Stripe’s card fee out of its 60%. The artists’ shares never shrink.

Community Space

Organizers sell on their own Stripe accounts. The studio charges a small Community Space ticket fee, and each organizer picks who covers the fees: the organizer, out of the price, or the buyer, itemized under every ticket.

Stripe sets its own fees, including its international card and dispute fees, and can change them; see stripe.com/pricing. Payouts and any other Stripe services an organizer uses are between the organizer and Stripe. Meek Earth Studio adds nothing beyond the Community Space ticket fee above.

Have the studio cover your Stripe fees

Organizations that host a Meek Earth Studio concert and provide the venue free of charge become venue partners. It’s the only way to skip the ticket fee on Community Space; the artist booking fee is separate and still applies. Each concert you host earns 12 months of the benefit, starting on the concert date; host again before it ends and it runs 12 months from the newest concert.

  • No Community Space ticket feeon your own Community Space events.
  • Your buyers pay your listed pricewith nothing added, whatever fee setting you chose.
  • Stripe fees paid back monthlyStripe takes its card fee from each sale as usual; the studio records every one from Stripe and pays the month’s total back to you, up to the value of the venue you provided (agreed when you sign up).

What “free of charge” includes

  • The room for the full concert day, from load-in through strike
  • Custodial service and cleanup
  • Electrical power, house lighting and restrooms
  • An accessible entrance and seating area
  • A certificate of the venue’s liability insurance
  • No rental, custodial, security or insurance charges to the studio

What isn’t covered

  • Stripe’s fee on orders that are fully refunded, lost in a dispute, or still under review
  • Stripe’s dispute fees, and any Stripe services you add yourself
  • Stripe fees beyond the venue’s agreed value, or on sales outside your 12-month window
